Lost Domain name = lost identity I advise anyone who owns and operates their own domain name to be aware. DO NOT LET YOUR DOMAIN NAME RIGHTS LAPSE! My team recently forgot to renew a domain name and the account lapsed. A third party company then snatched up the rights to the name (which I choose not to mention). They are now exploiting it over us trying to charge us 5 times more for the rights to the name than we would have gotten if we just renewed... Loosing the domain is not that big of a deal because I have all my data backed up on my comp, but loosing the e-mail address IS a big deal. I am now frantically running (figuratively of course) all over cyber space trying to change our contact information around the net and in every directory. It is frustrating and time consuming. PLEASE make sure you protect your domain names and do not let the same mistake that I have made.
